{me cracking up the first time I walked down the “aisle” by Davina + Daniel} I can’t stress enough how important it is to do a rehearsal of the ceremony. For the majority of folks, this will be the first time walking down the aisle and the first time your friends and close family walk… {photo by our labor of love via ead} It is really a generous and nice gesture to provide transportation for your guests…especially when your wedding is far away or up a mountain or there will be heavy drinking involved…but, if you want your guests to arrive to your wedding on time and sober do not… Sounds like you know from experience..? This weekend's wedding started an hour behind schedule because the bus bringing the guests showed up late. And by the time it did show up all the guests were wasted! Not my fault! I didn't schedule the bus just tried to coordinate it getting to the venue on time but guests kept telling the driver to pull over and make pit stops! Eek! That sounds horrible! Great idea to tell the guests that the bus leaves a half hour earlier than it does. I always tell my fiance we have to be somewhere a half hour before we actually do 'cause he's always slow getting out of the house {a little sneak peek…how cool are those trees!} Once upon a time I thought that invitations were really, really important to me. I love graphic design and I go kind of gaga over pretty fonts and pretty paper. This was going to be the one project into which I invested the most of my time… Last Friday I laid out my advice for having a less stressful, more practical and happier wedding planning experience. This week I thought I would talk more about what has kept me (somewhat) sane through my own wedding planning. Everyone organizes their life and work differently so if this is not how you process information… ok, excel kinda scares me, however this is a fantastic idea. i need to do this… Excel is your friend! I wanted to start a series on this blog that deals with the more practical side of planning a wedding or event. We all know I love the pretty but I am also a very organized person. Who says we can’t have the practical with the pretty, anyway? Where better to start than at the… wow i've never seen that site to see the average wedding costs! mine was less than $5k and to see the numbers at $19-$32k is insane to me!! I want to hear/see more about your wedding! Under 5K! I wish we could have pulled that off! |
