And here is the dreamy, ethereal, and timeless Part II to Allyse and Jay’s stunning wedding celebration!  It included one of our all-time favorite color palettes paired with Springtime flowers, gorgeous calligraphy, and modern details…basically everything we love and adore.  See more of Docuvitae’s photos on Carats and Cake and don’t miss the video from McDuff Productions below!

This is one of my all-time favorite weddings that we’ve done.  It tested our strength and stamina but it was well worth it!  Not only did I adore Allyse and Jay the moment I met them but their wedding was full of understated elegance, meaningful rituals and lots of love. The morning started with an Indian Ceremony followed by an incredible multi-food truck lunch in the Vibiana courtyard.  Once guests departed to change into their evening attire, we quickly transformed the space for their Western ceremony and sit-down dinner for 300!  It was a long day and night (which had followed a few long days) but I would do it again in a heartbeat.  Vibiana is one of my favorite venues in Los Angeles and I can’t wait to get back there!  The beautiful photos from their Indian Ceremony by Docuvitae are below.  So excited that this was featured on California Wedding Day! Stay tuned for Part II!

It doesn’t get more perfect than this wedding right here.  It was such an honor to get to plan and design Alex and Bridgette’s Caribbean-inspired estate wedding.  They were so trusting and open-minded about the design that it made my job so much easier!  It is a design that I am really proud of and I feel so lucky that I got to be a part of this magical day alongside a team of vendors that were all rock stars.  Food and cocktails are super important to this couple (they just celebrated Bridgette’s birthday at The French Laundry!).  Root Cellar Catering created a killer menu based on the Design Blueprint with a salad served inside a coconut (!!!), a whole roasted pig that was cooked onsite and taken out during cocktail hour.  Snake Oil’s  signature cocktails captured their personalities and tastes in 4 unique drinks.  The Little Branch brought their A-game with a tropical arch and hanging floral swing.  You know the party is going to be out of this world when Red Shoe is behind the music and the delightful Angela Mukul greeted guests with her amazing vocals and guitar.  Hey There Cupcake basically turned our design into a cake and it was PERFECT!  This video from the great guys at Grimace Films gets me every time.

And, of course, of course, of course, how stunning are these images from Rebecca Yale.  She is a master behind the camera and so brilliant at styling decor (can I just put her in my pocket and take her everywhere)!

And I’m so excited that it was featured in The Knot on stands now!

I am so proud of this editorial.  It was a vision that had been bouncing around in my head for quite some time and I’m so happy with the results.  Just goes to show that when the best vendors are involved then the results are nothing short of exquisite.  The Lombardi House in the heart of Hollywood is a hidden gem and the perfect backdrop for any style of event be it modern or traditional.  The moment you step through the gates you are transported to a romantic hideaway and the fact that you are just a few feet away from Hollywood’s attractions is forgotten.

I just love this combination of unexpected colors.  Pops of yellow paired with more muted blush, mauve and lavender and a hint of rusty orange creates a whimsical spring and summer palette.  When I am putting together a design board for myself or clients I tend to use 5 to up to sometimes 10 colors to create a rich, complicated and exciting palette.  There are a whole range of hues within one color story that can make your wedding decor that much more unique and personal.  The flowers available in Spring too are some of the most enchanting varieties and only available for a small window of time.  The butterfly ranunculus and fritillaria creating this wonderful movement and texture that is simply breathtaking.

 J. Lee Photos light and airy film photography is the perfect way to showcase this ethereal space and design.  She captured every detail so magically.  Head over to Style Me Pretty to see even more details from this amazing blush, yellow, mauve and lavender modern garden-inspired wedding editorial!

We are so excited that we get to finally share this modern, organic Inn at Rancho Santa Fe wedding with you!  We’ve had to keep it under wraps because we were waiting for Martha Stewart Weddings to feature it!  It’s kind of the best thing ever and we are beside ourselves!  This is one of our favorite weddings we have ever been a part of and once you scroll through the photos from Max and Friends and check out the Sharkpig video at the end you will understand why.  It has everything!  The sweetest bride and groom, the cutest doggy ring bearer, not one but two beautiful gowns, gorgeous details, a stunning venue, pie and panda heads….yes panda heads!

I’m so proud of this editorial.  I love the subtle yet rich details with layers of textiles and lush florals.  The Rue de Sienne was such a showstopper that we decided to tone down the tabletop replacing an overwhelming amount of decor with thoughtful details and gorgeous centerpieces.  It was such a dream working with this talented crew!

When your dream client comes along and trusts you to put together a dream team of vendors then magic tends to happen.   Talia and Tim are adored by every person that they meet and with their vivacious, generous and kind spirits it is easy to see why.  There was so much love surrounding this weekend between Tim and Talia but also from their friends and family.  The ceremony brought tears, laughter and good vibes all around and the reception was full of wonderment and surprises at every turn.  We are so honored that we were able to be a part of it!  And we are honored to have their wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes!

We helped Nicola and Luke plan their romantic al fresco celebration from 6,000 miles away.  Their main criteria for the venue was that it had to be an estate and they had to be able to party all night long which surprisingly isn’t an easy find in LA.  And 2am wouldn’t cut it….the party wasn’t going to be any good unless they were still going strong at dawn.  After traveling all over Southern California we finally happened upon a quirky venue that met the requirements and also had a lot of charm.  With different levels for every event during the evening including the inside of the mansion where guests could dance until morning and a pool for a recovery brunch the next day the Houdini Estate was the bohemian wonderland we were seeking.  Guests were welcomed with a pre-ceremony Pimm’s cocktail at the foot of the waterfall from which they ascended to the lawn for a sweet afternoon ceremony.  As they mingled on the gorgeous mosaic driveway the lawn was flipped and transformed into a romantic reception under the stars where guests enjoyed the delectable creations of Heirloom LA.    After a hefty dose of dancing on the driveway to tunes provided by DJ Vinjay of the Flashdance, the Patty Wagon arrived with late night snacks before guests continued the celebrating indoors.
