Rose/Gold Inspiration

I just wanted to give you all a little sneak peek of an idea/project I’ve been working on.  This is still definitely in the inspiration phase but hopefully soon I’ll be able to bring my rose/gold board to life with design, florals and stationery all by moi!

Real Wedding: Lindsay + Ben

I’m so thrilled to finally be able to share Lindsay and Ben’s wedding with you!  This definitely ranks up there in my top 10 favorite weddings of all time.  The entire day was magical from beginning to end and full of so much love from everyone involved.  It was one of those weddings that just brings a giant grin to your face not because of the details but because of the remarkable emotion that the couple has for one another and that there friends and family have from them.  It was an evening full of amazing food, music and stories.  I was excited to meet Lindsay after the first Cream Event (then Hitched).  Our styles and personalities definitely mesh well and I totally could envision the organic, industrial look she had for the day.  I created large banners with Wed Anderson-esque font leading up to through the park (it’s kind of a trek) and to the ceremony site.  They know hang in Lindsay and Ben’s office and look awesome!  We also installed a huge ribbon wall behind the band (thanks, husband!) and created fun chalkboard signs for different parts of the reception including the framed escort sign.  I brought in some of my own vintage pieces like the crates and vintage desk and made all the floral arrangements for The Floral Lab which was one of my favorite parts.  I loved the mix of bell jars and wood slices with the vintage apothecary bottles.  Lindsay and Ben made all the cute favors themselves that corresponded with their invitations as well as the burlap runners on the table.  All together it was a beautiful, organically modern celebration that definitely reflected what these two are all about!  OK enough chatter…onto the breathtaking images by Katie Neal Photo!

Tomorrow I’m going on a walkthrough of a venue for one of my fall weddings and I’m SO excited.  I’ve been dying to do a wedding at the Saddlerock Ranch since the first time I laid eyes on it.  It is such a gorgeous spot and every wedding I’ve seen there is soooo romantic.  I feel so lucky to be able to work at these beautiful spots and extra lucky because this couple is beyond awesome.  Their mid-century modern inspired wedding is going to be out-of-this-world with some of the best food, one of the best photographers and so many rad details!  I can’t wait!

Intern with Sweet Emilia Jane!

I’m looking for an intern for the 2012 season. This would be a great opportunity for someone interested in event design and planning and looking to gain more experience.  I’d love to find someone who can help with some of the production of design elements, shadow vendor and client meetings and assist during events.

Requirements:

Must be available on all event dates (see calendar) and occasionally the day before for rehearsals

Must be available to assist with design production, shadow meetings, etc. during the week or on weekends (not every week will be scheduled)

Must be creative, enthusiastic and have a jolly good sense of humor

Must live in the LA area and have wheels

This is an unpaid internship but can be used for school credit.  Please email me explaining why this internship would be perfect for you!

Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse is my absolute favorite location ever. i even daydream about driving along its bumpy road!

Happy Holidays!

It’s that time of year.  I decided to make my own holiday cards and send some of my fav vendors a handmade ornament.  They were super easy to make…except for the whole hand cramp from punching birch veneer…and I love how they turned out!  I got pretty much everything from Michaels and Paper Source.  Martha has the instructions right here.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and New Year!  I’ll see you in 2012!

xoxo.
