I’m REALLY excited to finally be able to share some of this project with you.  I wanted to create a series of table inspiration shoots based on typical wedding styles without any cheesy or kitschy themes.  I chose modern, bohemian and classic/traditional as my jumping off points and brought in fun, unique details for a little bit of a twist.

I also wanted to create these inspiration shoots to show off a new aspect of the SEJ repertoire.  I’ve slowly been adding paper goods to the whole sh-bang and now they’re ready to make their debut.  For these shoot, I created all the stationery – invitations, place cards, menus as well as the overall design, florals and coordination (with the help of my assistant-extraordinaire, Melinda!).

Each table was shot by my favorite shutterbug and bestie, Captured by Aimee!  And we are SUPER THRILLED that the modern table was featured on Green Wedding Shoes today so go check it out!  And here are a few of my fav shots!

Stay tuned for the other two shoots (hopefully) coming soon to a blog near you!!!

I went home to Massachusetts this week because my amazing mother and sister threw me a baby shower!  It was whirlwind trip and I wish I could have stayed longer with my family and friends but it was so wonderful to see everyone.  I’m very lucky to have some pretty spectacular women in my life including friends who I have known for 30, 20, 10 years and aunts, cousins and family friends who are so supportive and caring.  My sister – who is the most creative, organized and talented person I know – definitely outdid herself with the planning, baking and crafting for this party.  I think we may need to make this business a bi-coastal, family affair.  I’ve been trying to recruit her to come out to California and be my business partners for years!  Here are some of the photos I took of the shower…all design, planning, baking, cooking, etc. by my mom and sis!  I’m obsessed with those giant paper flowers!

Yesterday a bunch of us braved the rain and made it out to another awesome class taught by the ladies at The Little Branch.  Though I’ve been working with flowers for the past few years I always learn so much from these classes.  At this past weekend’s class we got to work with the sweetest spring flowers and succulents.  They definitely brightened up by day (and look so pretty with our new nursery rug)!

Have you met Katie yet?  If not, then you are in for a REAL treat today because not only is she an incredible person with a bubbly personality and fabulous style but she is one of the best photographers around.  I got pretty spoiled last year because I was lucky enough to work with her not once but four times!  You can see our work together here, here, here and one more beauty that is soon to be published!    Well, Katie is out with a spanking new website, brand and name that is absolutely awesome!  She is definitely on the way to superstar status so make sure you check out her work and snag her for your wedding!  Visit Swoon by Katie right now!

Seriously, head over to her portfolio, you will not be sorry!  Here are a few of my favs!

I have a fun announcement to make this week!  I opened up a Sweet Emilia Jane Etsy shop!  Yay!  So now lots of the handcrafted pieces that you’ve seen in the weddings and events that I’ve helped create will be available as well as so many new, fun decor and stationery goodies.  Right now, you can find custom signs like I created for Devon and Jake’s wedding that was just featured on Style Me Pretty.  I can make these on pretty much any color paper with any color ink so send me a message and let me know what will work with your wedding best!  I’m so excited to make some Mr. and Mrs. signs for Jessica of A Vintage Affair in Colorado!

So head on over to the new shop!  Make sure you check back often for new additions (you can find a link to the shop right up there on the menu)!

One of the first events I ever planned and designed was this vintage baby shower.  It was such a fun party to coordinate and attend and I loved seeing how happy the mommy-to-be was.  We filled up on cupcakes, played celebrity baby trivia games and just had the most perfect afternoon.  Now that I’m going to be attending my own shower pretty soon I’ve been itching to put together more baby celebrations!  I would love to create a modern party complete with a fun mommy manicure station, ombre sweets and bright, pops of color!

Well, this is just the sweetest way to end a busy week (heading into an equally as busy weekend)!  Style Me Pretty featured the incredible Firestone Winery wedding I was lucky enough to be a part of last summer.  This is definitely one of my favorites!  I did the planning, design + decor PLUS all the flowers for The Floral Lab.  It was a lot of work but so worth it!  Check out more of the details over at SMP today!  And you can see their inspiration board right here!

I hope you are spending today with the person or people you love most, eating loads of chocolates and sipping champagne!  I fell in love with the colors in Heidi Merrick’s Spring 2012 Collection.  Have you seen it?  I want every single piece.  The colors are so much fun so I created some Valentine’s Day Tags to attach to this year’s treats.  If you’d like to use them for your sweetheart just print out the PDF below and cut them out along the dotted line!
